Did you know?

Lasagna did not technically originate from Italy? It’s been traced all the way back to Ancient Greece. Lasagna, or “Lasagne” is derived from the word “Lagnon”, the first form of pasta! Lagnon was not a traditional lasagna as we know it today with the ingredients we use today but what it was composed of, layers of pasta and sauce. Lagnon was a flat dough that was sliced into strips. In different parts of Italy you will find different types of Lasagna. Northern Italy uses rippled noodles, and in Southern Italy the noodles are rippled. Researchers in Britain found a cookbook that had a recipe from the 1930’s so they claim they invented the first lasagna. All we know is that we love it and we think we make some of the best around! If you didn’t know, all of our recipes have been passed down from family and friends throughout the years. We only use the finest ingredients in all of our menu items including our lasagna. Pro Tip: Pair your lasagna with our favorite Chardonnay, J. Lohr. It’s creamy with a touch of oak, filled with flavors of apricot and crème Brulee. On Wednesdays, all bottles of wine are half off! Join us as we celebrate our favorite food on National Lasagna Day! Make a reservation in advance by calling the restaurant at 919-388-3820. We look forward to seeing you soon.
